Marco Somadossi (Rovereto – Italy, 1968) studied music at the Trento “F. A. Bonporti” Conservatory where he achieved a diploma in Trombone and Instrumentation for Bands, and obtained a degree in conducting and composition of Band Music with a first-class honours degree in Tilburg, NL. He went on to further studies in Composition with Stephen Meililo (USA) and James Barnes (USA),and in Conducting with Jan Cober (NL), Felix Hauswirth (CH) and many others. After an intense career as trombone player with several orchestras (Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, Youth Symphonic Band of the European Communities, Junge Schweizer Philarmonie, Pomeriggi musicali di Milano, Cameristi di Verona, Accademia Filarmonica Trentina, APM Brass Ensemble, En Chamade, Sudtiroler Blaserensemble, Symphonic Winds and many others) he decided to focus his actitvity exclusively conducting and composing band and ensemble music.
To be mentioned are his productions for the most important Italian music magazine, “Amadeus”, his didactics music recording with a youth band for Scomegna Ed. musicali and 9 CDs recorded as a conductor.ASSOCIAZIONE FLICORNO D’ORO
