Maestro Daniele Carnevali graduated from the Parma Musical Conservatory in trumpet and instrumentation for bands and also in choral music and choir direction at the Bologna Musical Conservatory. He then went on to study orchestra direction with Maestro Piero Guarino. In his early career, he played trumpet in a number of different classical and symphony orchestras, such as the “Arturo Toscanini” orchestra of Emilia Romagna and various others, whilst also teaching trumpet and trombone at the Parma and Modena Musical Conservatories.

During this period, he also dedicated his time to arranging and transcribing variations for brass instruments and original band music, which led him to great recognition by winning prizes in a number of contests. His compositions cover a wide range of musical genres and band formations, and are of varying technical difficulty, and it is for these reasons that his works are often used as the compulsory pieces in Italian and French competitions. He has worked with publishers such as Eridanea (MN), Molenaar (NL) and from 1993 until the present day, has an on-going, exclusive arrangement with Scomegna (TO).
His 30 or so compositions have been recorded resulting in over 40 CDs, 10 of which were recorded by the artist himself in Italy and published by Scomegna, as well as in Germany with the Carpe Diem publishing house. He has conducted the bands of Sabbioneta (MN), G. Verdi of the city of Parma, the “101″ of Fabbrico (RE), the Albiano Band Corps (TN) and the Trentino Wind Band (TN) – winners of first prize in Valencia 1998. He also been a guest for various formations, including: The Italian Military Band, The G. Andreoli philharmonic of Mirandola (MO), The Soncino Civic Band (CR – first prize at the Flicorno d’Oro in 1999), “Euterpe” by Canicattini Bagni, “G. Verdi” of Trieste, Fiatinsieme (TO), Horchestre d’Harmonie du val d’Aoste (AO), Wellington Winds and Wilfried Lauriel University (Canada), and finally, the university band of Jeju (South Korea) and Tilburg (Olanda). He has taken part in concerts with famous soloists such as Roger Bobo, Velvet Brown, Steven Mead, Jacques Mauger, Clement Saunier, Paolo Russo, Andrew Dahlke and other emerging young musicians.
The maestro has also held training sessions, seminars, intensive and ongoing courses in almost all the regions of Italy and is frequently invited as a jury member at national and international contests in a number of European countries and beyond (Spain, France, Hungary, Germany and South Korea). He has worked with composers and conductors such as Henk van Lijnschooten, Serge Lancen, Claude Decugis, Jan Van der Roost, Johan de Meij, Jap Koops, Andre Waignein, Hardy Mertens, Alain Crepin, Walter Ratzek, Felix Hauswirth, Franco Cesarini, Fulvio Creux, Bernard Adam Ferrero, Virginia Allen, Lee Dong-ho and many others. Since 1987, he has held the chair of the band instrumentation department at the “Bonporti” Musical Conservatory of Trento and has been Artistic Director of Flicorno d’Oro from 2009 to 2017.
