Rom Shamir ha iniziato gli studi in tromba all’età di 10 anni al Conservatorio Municipale di Tel-Aviv per poi proseguire sotto la guida del M° Yigal Meltzer, prima tromba dell’Israel Philarmonic Orchestra, ed al Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts.
Rom Shamir ha collaborato con la Israel National Youth Orchestra e con Young Israeli Philarmonic. Ha inoltre ricoperto il ruolo di prima tromba al Jerusalem Music Centre Brass Quintet, formazione che fa parte del progetto David Goldman per giovani musicisti talentuosi.
Ha svolto il servizio militare come trombettista presso l’Israel Defense Forces Orchestra e contemporaneamente ha iniziato gli studi di Direzione con il M° Menachem Nebenhaus. E’ stato inoltre ammesso alla classe di Direzione tenuto dal M° Yi-An Xu presso il Buchmann Mehta School of Music (Università di Tel-Aviv).
Durante i suoi studi accademici Rom Shamir ha partecipato a molti corsi e concorsi nel mondo, vincendo il Premio Speciale al concorso per Direttori “Danube” (Budapest, 2016).
Recentemente Rom Shamir ha vinto il primo premio al concorso tenuto in collaborazione tra Haifa Symphony Orchestra ed il dipartimento di Direzione del Buchmann Metha School of Music.
All’età di 23 anni, ancor prima di aver conseguito il diploma, è stato nominato Direttore Principale del Isael Defense Forces Orchestra. Questo lo ha fatto diventare uno dei più giovani Direttori a capo di una importante oschestra in Israele.
Tra le sue varie attività Rom scrive e compone canzoni, tra cui una diventata molto popolare tra i giovani in Israele.
Rom began his trumpet studies at the age of 10 at the Tel-Aviv Municipal Conservatory. He continued his studies under the principal trumpet of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Mr. Yigal Meltzer, and in the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts.
Rom is a graduate of the Israel National Youth Wind Orchestra and the Young Israeli Philharmonic. In addition, he was the principal trumpet of the Jerusalem Music Centre Brass Quintet, as part of the David Goldman program for Outstanding Young Musicians.
He served his military service as a trumpet player of the Israel Defense Forces Orchestra. During his service he began studying conducting with M° Menachem Nebenhaus, and was accepted to M° Yi-An Xu‘s conducting class at the Buchmann Mehta School of Music (Tel-Aviv University). During his academic studies, Rom participated in many courses and competitions around the world and won the ”Special Award“ at the ”Danube“ Competition for Conductors (Budapest, 2016). Recently, Rom won the first-place prize at a combined competition of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and the conducting department of the Buchmann Mehta School of Music.
At the age of 23, and still before graduating, Rom was appointed as the chief conductor of the Israel Defense Forces Orchestra. This made him one of the youngest conductors to lead a main orchestra in Israel.
Among all his activities, Rom also writes and composes songs, plays and original operas which became popular with young audiences in Israel.
Rom Shamir ist Absolvent des Israel National Youth Wind Orchestra und der Young Israeli Philharmonic. Darüber hinaus war er erster Trompeter des Brass Quintet des Jerusalem Music Center im Rahmen des David Goldman-Programms für herausragende junge Musiker.
Er leistet seinem Militärdienst als Trompeter des Israel Defense Forces Orchestra. Während seines Dienstes begann das Dirigentenstudium bei Maestro Menachem Nebenhaus und wurde in die Dirigierklasse von Maestro Yi-An Xu an der Buchmann Mehta School of Music (Universität Tel Aviv) aufgenommen.
Während seines Studiums nahm Rom Shamir an zahlreichen Kursen und Wettbewerben auf der ganzen Welt teil und gewann den „Sonderpreis“ beim „Donau“ -Wettbewerb für Dirigenten (Budapest, 2016).
Vor kurzem gewann Rom den ersten Preis bei einem kombinierten Wettbewerb des Haifa Symphony Orchestra und der Dirigentenabteilung der Buchmann Mehta School of Music.
Im Alter von 23 Jahren und noch vor seinem Abschluss wurde Rom zum Chefdirigenten des Israel Defense Forces Orchestra ernannt. Dies machte ihn zu einem der jüngsten Dirigenten, der ein Hauptorchester in Israel leitete. Unter all seinen Aktivitäten schreibt und komponiert Rom auch Lieder, Theaterstücke und Originalopern, die bei jungen Zuschauern in Israel populär wurden.
